Recruitment privacy notice
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This explains what we do with the information you send when you apply for a job at The Master Fryer.
Who we are
The Master Fryer is three family-run fish and chip shops. Each shop is its own company, and the shop you apply to is responsible for your application. If you tick more than one shop, each of them is sent it.
- Crawley: Pound Hill (Caterers) Limited, company number 02417769, 1 Pound Hill Parade, Crawley RH10 7EA.
- Horsham: Roffey (Caterers) Limited, company number 10174034, 20 Fitzalan Road, Horsham RH13 6AA.
- Billingshurst: Billingshurst Caterers Ltd, company number 12063556, 12 Jengers Mead, Billingshurst RH14 9PB.
To contact us about your application, email the shop: crawley@themasterfryer.com, horsham@themasterfryer.com or billingshurst@themasterfryer.com.
What we collect
Only what you send on the form: your name, email address, mobile number and postcode; the work, hours and shifts you would like; your answers about your experience and yourself; whether you would like us to contact you about adjustments to the recruitment process; whether you have the right to work in the UK; and your CV, if you send one.
We do not ask for your date of birth, your address or anything about your health on this form.
Why we use it
To consider you for a job, to contact you about your application and to arrange an interview or a trial shift. We do this because you have asked us to consider you, and because we have a legitimate interest in choosing the right people to work with us.
Your answer about adjustments is used only to make the process fair for you. It plays no part in deciding on your application, and it is not shown to the managers reading applications until you have been invited in.
No decision about your application is made by a computer alone. A person reads it.
Who sees it
The owner and the managers responsible for hiring at the shop or shops you applied to. Each time one of them opens your details, it is recorded.
Your application is kept on the system that runs our shops. The companies that provide that system hold it for us and only on our instructions: Vercel and Neon (the servers and database), and our email providers, for messages to you about your application. Some of these companies are based outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires.
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
- If you are not taken on: six months from the day you applied, and then it is removed, your CV with it.
- If you work a trial shift: we keep a record of it, because it is a record of work and pay.
- If you join us: your application becomes part of your staff record, and we will tell you then how staff records are kept.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to remove your application before the six months are up, or object to how we use it. Email the shop you applied to. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
